About SaveVault
Game saves are hundreds of hours of your life. Losing them to a corrupt file, a reinstall, or a new PC shouldn't be possible. SaveVault makes sure it isn't.
Why it exists
Cloud saves are a patchwork — they only cover the games a launcher chooses to support, scatter across Steam, GOG, Epic, and others, and rarely reach across operating systems. SaveVault takes a different approach: detect every game on your system, back its saves into portable archives you fully control, and protect them in real time while you play — on Windows, Linux, the Steam Deck, and macOS.
Your data stays yours
SaveVault runs no servers and stores nothing about you. Backups live where you choose, and cloud sync — when you turn it on — goes to your ownGoogle Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. Every archive is self-describing, so even without SaveVault you can open one and copy your saves back by hand.
Open source
SaveVault is released under the GNU GPL-3.0. The source is public and auditable, you can build it yourselffor free, and buying a signed build simply supports continued development. Your saves are never held hostage by a license.
Built by multimediality
SaveVault is an independent project by multimediality. It stands on the shoulders of the PCGamingWiki /Ludusavi community, whose open game-save database powers automatic detection. Questions or ideas?Get in touch.
