Installation

SaveVault ships as a desktop app (Tauri) plus a full command-line interface. Pick the platform you play on.

Download the installer from your purchase (Steam or direct) and run it. The default build bundles everything you need; a Lite build is available if you’d rather supply your own rclone for cloud backup.

Download the .dmg, open it, and drag SaveVault to Applications.

Use the AppImage for a portable, self-contained binary, or install the .deb / .rpm through your package manager. SaveVault’s UI is Steam Deck Verified — gamepad-navigable, touch-friendly, and sized for 1280×800.

SaveVault is open source (GPL-3.0). With the Rust toolchain and Node.js installed:

Terminal window
git clone https://github.com/multimediality/savevault.git
cd savevault
cargo build --release

The CLI lands at target/release/savevault-cli.

Once installed, run your first scan and backup:

Terminal window
savevault-cli scan
savevault-cli backup
